Hakimah Abdul-Fattah

Hakimah Abdul-Fattah joined the department in 2019 to provide research support for the upcoming exhibition Sahel: Art and Empires on the Shores of the Sahara. Before joining The Met, she worked in the Education Department at the Whitney Museum of American Art. She has held positions at the Brooklyn Museum in the Arts of Africa department, the Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Education and Photographic Archives. Hakimah holds a BA in anthropology and French from Bates College and a MA in museum anthropology from Columbia University.
