Celebrate Pride at One of New York City's Most Legendary Institutions

WorldPride is being celebrated in New York this year, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, an event which helped spark the LGBTQIA+ rights movement. Joining the celebration, the Museum will host a series of events, workshops, discussions, and performances that recognize the culture and contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community, including a vogueing competition staged on The Met's iconic plaza.

This month, the Museum is also offering a Rainbow Drink Package consisting of a general admission ticket and a beverage at the Cantor Roof Garden Bar, where you can enjoy this year’s Roof Garden Commission: Alicja Kwade, ParaPivot with a drink in hand and the glorious New York City skyline as the backdrop. Other must-see exhibitions now on view include Camp: Notes on Fashion and Play It Loud: Instruments of Rock & Roll.

This June, New York City is playing host to WorldPride NYC, a thirty-day international festival of LGBTQIA+ culture that will coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. It also coincides with The Costume Institute's spring exhibition, Camp: Notes on Fashion, at The Met Fifth Avenue, which traces the etymological origins of camp in theatrical and LGBTQIA+ culture, as well as camp's contemporary expressions of artifice and exaggeration, theatricality, humor, and irony in fashion.
