Plate
Much early Manisan lusterware was influenced by Islamic designs introduced from Andalucía by immigrant Mudéjar or converted Muslim craftsmen. The central design of this plate is a typical Islamic interlocking star pattern, surrounded by Kufic and pseudo-Kufic script. The back of the plate is emblazoned with a large eagle displayed.
