Eighth plate of the second album of a book containing two pochoir pattern albums bound together, titled "Idées 2" (Ideas 2), published ca. 1933 by the Librairie des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and designed by Georges Darcy. The album is composed of one title page and 12 plates, numbered 1-12; the book is bound with blue library binding, with the title printed in gold on paper mounted on the front cover. The designs in the albums are possibly for Art Deco textiles and contain a variety of geometric motifs, birds and flowers, all typical of the Art Deco style, which was characterized by its eclecticism, drawing from a variety of sources that sought to combine old European design traditions with the modern style diffused by avant-garde art, while also reflecting the romantic fascination with early Egyptian and Meso-American "exotic" cultures promoted by archaeological discoveries of the times.
The plate contains two designs with semi-abstract floral motifs executed in bright colors. The first design consists of bundles of semi-abstract flowers, roses, and leaves, executed with white, yellow, blue, and shades of pink, green, and gray, under a semi-abstract blue sky with white clouds. The second design consists of a large lozenge frame, executed in yellow, containing a large stylized vase, colored with white and outlined with gray, and with large stylized flowers with petals colored with shades of red and orange, and leaves colored with green and blue, over a ground with pink and green clouds, and green and purple scales, positioned between two vertical stripes with yellow scrolling motifs, outlined with white and decorated with light green dots, and framed by pairs of vertical, undulating, dark green lines, over a gray ground.
