The Anna Wintour Costume Center and Charles James: Beyond Fashion Opening Ceremony

Ribbon Cutting

At a ceremony this morning, First Lady Michelle Obama cut the ribbon officially opening The Costume Institute’s new Anna Wintour Costume Center, which has just undergone a two-year renovation. 

Speakers included First Lady Michelle Obama; Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO of the Metropolitan Museum; Aerin Lauder, Founder and Creative Director of AERIN, sponsor of the inaugural exhibition Charles James: Beyond Fashion and this evening’s Costume Institute Benefit; and Harold Koda, Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute.
